What is Gemboree

The Gemboree is the Australian National Gem and Mineral Show. It is an annual event held in a different state around the nation. Hosted by the Australian Federation of Lapidary and Allied Crafts Association (or AFLACA), Gemboree is the biggest gathering of lapidary and associated hobby enthusiasts from all over the country.

This year, Gemboree 2021 will be held over the Easter long weekend at Glenorchy, Tasmania. Exhibitors will be showcasing their quality gem craft and there will be minerals, jewellery, gemstones and beads for sale.

Our excitement for Gemboree 2021

Since early 2020, the Australian Government had banned overseas travel to help stop the spread of COVID-19. As a result, we haven’t been able to attend the Tucson Gem Shows in Arizona, USA. In addition, our state government also placed a hard border around Western Australia. This made inter-state travel very difficult.

However, with low cases of Coronavirus and community spread, our W.A. border restrictions have now been eased. We are truly grateful to be able to travel freely around the country again. Needless to say, we are very excited about this trip to Tasmania to showcase our quality gem collection at Gemboree.
