TGMS | Tucson Gem & Mineral Show 2020
I first visited the fabled Tucson Gem and Mineral Show (TGMS) way, way back in 1987. (I even bought a poster to mark the occasion) . Oh my! It was an exceptional and memorable experience on so many levels! The sheer scale of the Show warranted multiple visits over several days.
So, it was due to a truly remarkable chain of singular events and some planning that I could trade at this year’s TGMS. And yes…it was a remarkable experience, quite apart from this being the third Show for us for February. In hindsight, I think it was just adrenalin that got me through. Hence the rather hagged look on my face by this time.
So much work had gone into streamlining processes and presentations. A big shout-out to both Susi from “Susannah Gai Gemstone Carver” and Sarenah from “Australian Minerals, Hahndorf“ who had worked so hard in the weeks leading up to this show. Thank you, ladies!
And thank you also to Don of Aradon who went out of his way on several occasions to make sure I was sustained and who helped me with the setup/breakdown of the booth at the TGMS Show.
The icing on the cake was meeting all the new and generous people – collectors/gemmologists/rock nerds, and so many others. Thank you all for stopping by to look, talk and share your stories and for making purchases too!
