A gold, quartz, pyrite with altered basalt piece fashioned as a trapezoid tablet cut.
Gold in quartz with matrix
$745.00 inc. GST
Cut in a complementary tablet style (front and back parallel) with a rounded bevel edge, shaped to frame a generous amount of 92% fine native gold inclusions. The quartz host for the gold also includes an unusual blend of calcite, iron pyrite (both massive and in cubic form) and occasionally minerals of nickel plus a talc-chlorite altered basalt, the original host of this suite of minerals. This is a very rare combination. Exclusively and lawfully sourced from the depths of the Beta Hunt nickel mine just east of the mining town of Kambalda in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, just south of Kalgoorlie.
This unusual blend of minerals takes a super fine polish that is accentuated by the buttery yellow, fine gold inclusions. Given the complex mix of so many minerals the finished product is very sound and appropriate for jewellery wear and or as a keepsake for generations to come, as the last find of similar material in this or any mine in the Western Australian Goldfields was in 1972.
