Mixed Chalcedony

This material occurs within the same environment as high quality gem chrysoprase, hence the teasing little sections of transparent chrysoprase found lying in these cabs between the yellow magnesite and the weathered iron oxide rind, so pervasive to the great Australian outback. I enjoy exploring the meanderings and patterns of this weathering product with it’s latter silicification melding the whole into an homogenous product that takes a great polish despite the differences in their geological origins.
